Preparing your tooth

At this visit you will be comfortably seated in our dental chair and choosing your favourite music or Netflix show to watch before beginning the procedure. This visit will usually take about 2 hours and we want you to have the best dental experience especially if you are anxious about visiting the dentist.

The first part of the visit our gentle dentist will be numbing the area, followed by the preparation of the tooth in readiness for the porcelain crown. Due to the nature of having the permanent crown cemented on the same day, we no longer need to make a temporary crown, which means our dentist can be conservative with the crown design and preserve more of your healthy tooth structure. Creating your porcelain tooth

Then we will take a 3D digital scan of the tooth and our CEREC software will be able to create a porcelain tooth within minutes. You can now take a break, have a stretch, and even take a walk along our lovely brighton precinct whilst we plan, mill, and glaze your porcelain crown using our latest CEREC technology: PrimeScan, Prime Mill and Speedfire furnace. Inserting your CEREC Crown

You will now return for your final crown to be inserted. At this point, you should still be numb so we don’t need to give you an additional anesthetic, which is always a bonus. The final cementation process should be quick and easy; making porcelain crowns have never been so convenient. (20min)
