Over the years, one of the most common questions patients have is how to replace my missing teeth. So I’ve decided to make a video and share it with you.
First of all, dental implants, and you might be like, “Yeah, I know. It’s like really expensive, right?” and you’re right. Implants are very expensive, but most of the time, a dental implant is the best way to replace your missing tooth. But what a lot of people don’t know is that you don’t need one implant for every single missing tooth. A lot of times you can have as little as two implants or up to six implants in your jaw to replace all of your missing teeth.
If implants are not suitable, or if you’re looking for an alternative solution, a dental bridge or porcelain bridge is the next best option. Basically, a bridge is whereby we put two porcelain crowns on your adjacent teeth and have a false porcelain tooth attached to it. It’s fixed so you can’t remove it and aesthetically it looks just like a real tooth. So a dental bridge is a simple and effective way to replace a missing tooth.
Number three, we can always replace teeth with dentures. Yes, we still use dentures and it is cheaper than the other two options. However, we all hate it. Patients hate it because it can be bulky and uncomfortable and most of them can’t stand the idea of taking your falsies out at night and putting in a glass of water. Dentists hate it because they know there’s a high chance patients will hate it but it is the most cost-effective way to replace missing teeth. A lot of times we actually use dentures as an interim solution while we plan for dental implants.
So if you have a missing tooth and missing teeth and is looking for an expert opinion for your situation, we would love to help.

Hi, my name is Dr Warren Antonoff, I’m the principal dentist of Lifestyle Smiles. Yesterday Melissa from Brighton asked me, do I need bone grafting for my dental implant? I thought I’d make a quick video sharing my thoughts on this particular topic.
