All-Teeth-on-4

Do you have a series of missing teeth in your upper and/or lower jaw and want a more comfortable and permanent solution than removable dentures?
In 1998, Dr Paulo Malo successfully treated the first patient with the All-Teeth-on-4 treatment concept. Since then, hundreds of thousands of patients’ lives have been transformed with this advanced procedure using Nobel Biocare implants.
What Is All-Teeth-on-4 Treatment?
All-Teeth-On-4 is a tri-modality treatment where we place four dental implants either in the upper or lower arch and give you a full set of teeth on top of that. These implants can be fixed or removable.
The All-Teeth-on-4 is a screw-retained design, supported on as few as four dental implants, and replaces an entire arch of teeth. It is the most functional method of replacing all your teeth and is a permanent solution that does not cover the palate (roof of your mouth). It gives you up to 95% of your chewing ability, compared to traditional dentures, and performs just like your natural teeth.

What Is a Dental Implant?
We want you to have a great understanding of how All-Teeth-on-4 works in order to determine if it is the right treatment for you or someone you know. To understand All-Teeth-on-4, you should understand what a dental implant is.
A dental implant is a small titanium screw that replaces the root, the bottom part of the missing tooth embedded in the jaw bone. The screw fits inside of the jawbone perfectly. Once the implant is completely healed and integrated into the bone, a porcelain crown will be attached to the screw to replace the missing tooth. As a final product, you will have a tooth that looks natural and is functional for you.
The upside of All-Teeth-on-4 dental implants is that you don’t need to place an implant for every single tooth that’s missing. All we will do at Lifestyle Smiles for your All-Teeth-On-4 implants is give you four perfectly placed implants for your top arch or your bottom arch. Between the eight implants in your mouth, your smile will be completely restored.

Who Needs All-Teeth-on-4 Treatment?
Those who would benefit from the All-Teeth-on4 treatment include elderly people who have had dentures all their lives and want to enjoy their food again, young adults who have neglected to see the dentist for so long that their teeth are no longer viable to be saved, and people who have few remaining teeth that can’t be saved or restored due to dental issues such as gum problems and extensive tooth decay.

All-Teeth-on-4 vs. Traditional Dentures
If you have lost all of your teeth, you only have two options: All-Teeth-on-4 and traditional dentures. Below is a side-by-side comparison of both options.
All-Teeth-on-4
- Feels closest to natural teeth
- Does not move or fall out
- Preserves bone
- Ability to taste food
- Gain up to 95% of your natural biting force
- Can last a lifetime
Traditional Dentures
- Bulky appliance and pressure can be felt on the gums
- Can fall out when they become loose
- Bone resorption or bone loss is apparent
- Less sense of taste due to denture covering the roof of the mouth
- May require adhesive after some time to secure dentures
- Will continually need to be refitted and replaced.
What Is the Process of Having All-Teeth-on-4 Treatment?
The initial examination will be done to assess your remaining teeth, determining whether they can still be saved or not. If the remaining teeth can’t be restored and the patient wishes to have them replaced with dental implants, then diagnostic tests will be carried out.
After the initial examination, we take all the necessary records, intraoral photos, and x-rays to accurately plan a suitable treatment for you. We will then discuss your treatment options, the All-Teeth-on-4 procedure, and what will happen on the day of surgery.
The surgery can be done as soon as two weeks after your initial examination, and you can have your teeth within the day of the actual operation.
As our patient, you have the option to conduct All-Teeth-on-4 under sedation. Some patients are happy enough for us to do the procedure awake. Depending on the difficulty of the situation, the surgery can take anywhere between an hour or two.
Lifestyle Smiles Qualifications to Perform All-Teeth-on-4
At Lifestyle Smiles, the All-Teeth-on-4 procedure is performed by Dr. Warren Antonoff. He has gained the Master Clinician of Implantology from Loma Linda University in the USA. He has also completed advanced implant training across the world to be fully qualified to undertake this advanced procedure.
Maintenance of All-Teeth-on-4
Dental implants simply need the same care and cleaning as your natural teeth. This includes daily brushing and flossing, along with regular dental check-ups and cleanings.
We will also require you to return at least every six months to maintain the implants and the implant prosthesis. Typically, after every two to three years, we want to remove the prosthesis, have a thorough check underneath and give them another clean.
