Bill’s Emergency Dental Treatment in Bentleigh East
We would like to share with you a dental emergency case we had a few weeks ago. Bill, a student from Bentleigh East, is a very active and athletic boy. He loves sports and biking. One day, his mom brought him into our clinic because he broke his tooth in a bike accident. His broken front tooth also started to become sensitive to cold beverages.
Luckily, after the examination, we discovered that the fracture didn’t reach the nerve, which meant that we didn’t need to perform a root canal on him. Since we were only restoring a front tooth, his mom opted for composite aesthetic bonding, instead of a simple filling, which was done in two dental visits.
For composite aesthetic bonding, a mould of Bill’s teeth was taken on his first visit. This was used as a foundation for the dentist to use in layering the filling, which was performed on his second appointment. Layering the composite will mimic the appearance of a natural tooth, making it very discreet.

The Result
After two visits at the clinic over two days, Bill went home with a brand-new smile. You simply can’t tell that he had a bike accident. His mom was very happy as well, knowing Bill can now go to school without getting teased by other kids at his school.
With his brand new smile, the only thing that Bill had to do is to make sure he remembers to wear a helmet when riding a bike.
