Dr. Jeff has 11 years of university (post secondary school) education and training and 27 years of practice experience to help you achieve an optimal treatment outcome.
He started his education at the University of Western Ontario Canada where he completed an honours degree in both physiology and pharmacology. (1984)
He the attended the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry where he completed a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. (1988)
He trained in Oral Surgery through the University of Manitoba in Canada. (1989)
He completed the Nobel implant surgical training through New York University (1990)
He then completed the fellowship in Dental Anesthesiology through the American Society of Dental Anesthesia (2000)
Finally, he gained the National Dental Board of Anesthesia qualification (2002). Although trained/qualified in general anesthesia in North America, Dr. Jeff does not practice general anesthesia within Australia.
In 2005 he was granted the Endorsement in conscious sedation from AHPRA, which is the only dental sedation qualification recognized in Australia.
Throughout his career he has been involved in teaching both medical and dental students and residents in both anesthesia, sedation and maxillofacial trauma. As well, he has been involved in teaching for general dentists, in the areas of minor oral surgery, implant surgery and both hard and soft tissue grafting.
Dr. Jeff has been a frequent lecturer for the Australian Society of Dental Anesthesia (ASDA) and a past council member for ASDA.
Dr. Jeff has been a lecturer, in the only training program for dental sedationist’s in Australia, which is the Graduate Diploma in Conscious Sedation and Pain Management through the University of Sydney, Westmead Hospital.
In Canada he lectured to Emergency Medicine residents on maxillofacial trauma.
In the United States he has provided didactic and clinical training on oral surgery.
While in the Middle East he has lectured for Nobel Biocare on grafting procedures for dental implants in Dubai.
Also in the in the Middle East he produced and taught the first year oral and maxillofacial surgery program physical diagnosis and sedation modules for Hamad Medical Corporation, as well as assisting in teaching the junior medical anesthesiology residents in the operating room at Hamad Medical Corporation.
He runs continuing education programs in Australia for dental sedationist’s through his Asleep Dental company and is planning to teach medical emergency management to both dental GP’s and assistants in the coming year.
In 2016 he has been invited by Harvard University to lecture and run simulation courses during their Pediatric Sedation Program.
He is a member of both the American Dental Society (ADSA) of Anesthesia and the Australian Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ASDA).
He is a member of the American Academy of Osseointegration (Implant Society).
He is a member of Australian Dental Association.
