Dental Crowns in Melbourne
Porcelain crowns are commonly used to restore and protect teeth that have sustained significant damage. They may be considered in situations such as substantial loss of tooth structure, following root canal treatment, or where a tooth has cracks that affect function, depending on individual clinical assessment.
The suitability of a porcelain crown, and its longevity, varies between patients and should be determined through a comprehensive dental examination and discussion of treatment options.
Did you know that you can walk away with a new porcelain crown within 2 hours from start to finish? Please visit our CEREC page to find out more.
Creating the Best Porcelain Crowns for you
Whilst CEREC can produce an immediate dental crown for you in such a short space of time, there are still times we do porcelain crowns the traditional way.
- If the colour matching the adjacent tooth is challenging
- If we want to place a temporary crown on the tooth for a short period of time to see if the toothache goes away
- If you’re also having porcelain veneers on other teeth and we are doing everything together.
In the above situations, we will require you to complete the process in 2 visits.
