  3. COVID-19 Update
Within the last few days, the government has announced that dentists in metropolitan Melbourne will move to ADA Level 2 dental restrictions from 28 September and to Level 1 dental restrictions from 26 October. This means we will be able to do more than emergency dental treatments! This includes
Z
Tooth Fillings
Z
Tooth Extractions
Z
Medical management of soft tissue presentations (such as
ulcers)
Z

Preventative procedures such as the application of topical
remineralising agents e.g. fluoride

Z

Orthodontic treatment (such as Invisalign)

It’s great news for dentists, our staff, and all our lovely clients. In addition to emergency services, we will be providing all general dental services, which are unlikely to generate aerosols. Our practice will continue to maintain protocols to further ensure the safety of our patients and staff.
Z
Patients who have any symptoms or illness or are in quarantine continue to refrain from visiting our clinic.
Z
We will continue our usual COVID-19 precautions when patients visit the clinic:

  1. Observe social distancing and not bring anyone else with you to your dental appointment when possible.

2. Patients are asked to use the hand sanitiser at the door when they enter the clinic.

WAYS TO REDUCE RISK OF COVID-19

Z
Wash hands often with soap and running water, for at least 20 seconds. Dry with paper towel or hand dryer.

Try not to touch your eyes, nose or mouth.

Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. If you don’t have a tissue cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow.

Isolate yourself at home if you feel sick. If you take medication ensure you have adequate supplies.

Phone your GP first if you need medical attention. They will tell you what to do.

Continue healthy habits: exercise, drink water, get plenty of sleep, and now is the time to quit smoking. Call Quitline 137 848

Z
Don’t wear a face mask if you are well.
Z
Use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser with over 60 per cent alcohol.

Get the flu shot.
